SEMIYA BRIYANI
Semiya is also called as vermicelli. Usally we do upma or kheer with this semiya. But taste of semiya totally changes when we do briyani or tomato semiya. I tasted this tomato semiya in my friends home. I loved it very much. I saw chef venkatesh bhat's semiya brinyani and tried it . My family likes the briyani very much . This is perfect for lunch box menu or weekend special. It taste similar as vegetable briyani.

Ingredients :
Vermicelli - 1 cup Mixed Vegetables- 3/4 cup(used carrot,beans and potato) Big Onion - 1 medium sized chopped lengthwise Tomato - 1 small sized chopped lengthwise Ginger Garlic paste - 1 tspn Red Chili powder - 1 tspn Briyani masala powder - 1 tspn Garam masala powder - 1/2 tspn Coriander Leaves - 2 tbspn Water - 3 cups Salt - to taste Oil - 4 tbspn
Cinnamon - 1/4 inch piece Cloves -2 Cardamom - 1 Bay leaf - 1 Star Annis - 1
Method:
1. Dry roast the vermicelli in a kadai. Transfer it to plate. Heat water in kadai with a tbspn of oil. Once it starts to rolling boil slow the flame and add vermicelli. Once semiya is cooked add the vermicelli to strainer and remove excess water.
2.In a kadai heat remaining oil and add the whole spices and onion. Then add the ginger garlic paste. cook till raw smell goes. Then add the tomatoes and the red chili powder,briyani masala and garam masala.
3.Cook till the masala blends with tomatoes. Then add the vegetables and little water . Allow the vegetables to cook. Then add the chopped coriander leaves and semiya. cover it for 2 mints. Then mix well gently. Now its ready .
Serve the semiya briyani with raita.
